I had 10 RIL shares @ 1600, one day I found that the price of the shares has become @800 overnight, Now my holding shows that I have 10 Shares @800. Though it should be like ..I should have 20 shares @800, which is not in this case. My question is-
1-why the shares are not doubled to 20 while the price reduced to half.
2-If this happening to everyone(considering every share holder having the same quantity of shares after the price reduced to half) then how are they selling the shares.ie. if I sell my 10 shares today at the current market price around 850 then I will have no holding of Reliance and a total loss of 7500 (as I had 10 shares@1600) how I will get my remaining 10 shares.How the trading is going on in the market.
3-I have also heard of dividend of 1:1, will I get any additional shares here.

Sanjib Ji biggest confusion is-I had 10 Shares @1600, after price split it became 10 shares @800.after waiting 2 weeks now I have got message that 10 bonus shares has been added.
Now scenario is earlier
I had 10sharesX1600=16000Rs
Now after 2 week I have 20 sharesX800=16000Rs
Can anyone answer -where is the bonus (this is like price made to half and shares doubled)
or something wrong happen to my account.

NO you will not - Settlement for Demat shares is T+2 , which means the shares will be transfered to your account 2 days after the trade date on a closing basis - so you need to buy 2 days before record date to be eligible
