I am craving popcorn but all I have is a microwave bag. Is that safe to eat during pregnancy? A couple of websites say it is ok, but some other ones say it isn’t. I’ve had 3 miscarriages before so I’m trying to be really careful with everything!

I ate popcorn almost daily with all of my pregnancies and this is #4. I’ve never had any issues.

It’s fine. No matter what you look at there will be somewhere/someone saying it’s not safe. Most everything is fine in moderation anyhow

I’ve had microwave popcorn a couple times and was fine! I definitely feel you though, I had a mc in Feb. so I’m also over analyzing everything. I’ve never heard of microwave popcorn being bad during pregnancy. Maybe just don’t over-do it!

How is popcorn dangerous???
I’m genuinely asking because I’ve never heard that one.

My guess is a site that says not to eat micro popcorn would be more about health concerns. Some people are pretty strict about their pregnancy diets from a health perspective- I suppose it could be high in sodium, and the butter "flavoring" can be questionable health wise. But I can't think of how it would be *dangerous*. Its definitely not the list of avoids from my OB.

If you are really concerned about the bag/the microwave/the vegetable oils you could 1) take the kernels out of the bag and place in a new paper bag rolled up 2) take kernels out and cook in a pot or 3) take kernels out and wash them off, then do 1 or 2.
