Aceable’s course is one of my favorite real estate courses available in Texas. If you don’t want to sit through a bunch of boring content, this is the course for you. It’s really engaging and the learning style changes up throughout the course, which makes the time go by faster. Because of their extremely high real estate exam pass rates, it’s also the course that gives you the best chance of passing the real estate test. As far as price goes, it’s pretty middle of the road, but the extra perks like the 75 videos & audio lessons make it a worthwhile investment. For best results, I recommend you buy one of their packages that include test prep to reduce the likelihood of having to take your exams twice or worse – having to take the course over again.
Pass Rate. Aceable has a 74% pass rate amongst Texas students, which is not only impressive, it’s unmatched by any reputable in-person or online real estate courses. That’s about 35% higher than the average Texas real estate school providers, and ultimately you’re taking the course to pass the licensing exams, so your first consideration should be picking a school with good pass rates.
Course Duration. Aceable’s Texas courses don’t expire, unlike most other real estate schools, which tend to have 12 month expirations. However, don’t expect the course to take you forever. Most students take between 8-12 weeks.
Support. There are several ways to get in touch with customer support, including the live chat feature. This is great if you have a quick question and don’t want to wait on the phone. And if you do want to jump on a call? All my calls were answered by a live person, and their support team is super friendly and knowledgeable.
Refund Policy. Aceable offers a 30-day refund policy, as long as you haven’t finished the course yet. They also have their Ace or “Don’t Pay” Guarantee which ensures that you won’t have to pay for the course again if you fail the exam.

The CE Shop’s course is one of the easiest and most straightforward courses in Texas. The platform UI is really intuitive. If you’re going back and forth on which course to choose, this is the course for you, since they offer a five-day free trial. You don’t even have to put in a credit card. It’s also the course that gives you the best chance of getting your money back if you decide not to finish. Plus, the extra perks like the Exam Prep Edge, and the included 98-hour required SAE education course make it a good value. For those unfamiliar with the Texas SAE, it’s a one-time Texas CE course required to complete within 2 years of getting your license.
Pass Rate. The CE Shop has an estimated 67% pass rate amongst Texas students, which is significantly higher than the average rate. Many other schools are in the ~55% range.
Course Duration. The CE Shop’s Texas course expires 6 months after purchase, but they do offer a one-month extension for no extra cost that can be applied right after your six-month term.
Support. There are a number of ways to get in touch with a real person, and they are available 7 days a week via phone, email, or live chat. Their email support is really responsive, and the support team is knowledgeable.
Refund Policy. The CE Shop offers a generous 30-day refund policy, as long as you haven’t finished more than 50% of the course. They also have a 5-day free trial where you can test drive the course before buying.

RealEstateU is the cheapest course available in Texas. While you can rest assured you won’t be paying premium prices, you also won’t get a very interactive learning experience. If you’re self-motivated & don’t care about visual lessons, this course still gets the job done. RealEstateU also has a cool feature that allows users to listen to the course on the go, much like a podcast. This makes churning through the 180 hours of Texas coursework go a lot faster than if you have to read it. That being said, the school’s pass rates tend to be lower than average, so I’d suggest taking a look at Aceable’s exam prep option to pair with your REU course so that you feel confident walking into the exam.
Pass Rate. RealEstateU has a lower pass rate than others on this list (52.22%), but it’s still higher than many other online real estate schools.
Course Duration. RealEstateU has a pretty strict policy – if you don’t finish in 12 months then you have to buy the course in its entirety again.
Support. They don’t have phone support or a live chat option, so if you run into an issue, you’ll have to fill out a contact form on their website or send an email to the support team.
Refund Policy. It’s important to note that RealEstateU doesn’t offer free trials or money-back guarantees, but it does offer a 30-day money back and ‘no questions asked’ policy.Keep in mind that $20 may be deducted from your refund depending on the class you are enrolled in.

Visit Colibri
If you’re looking for live, scheduled courses, I highly recommend Colibri’s packages. Colibri offers both live-stream and traditional online courses. The live stream courses are great. I don’t recommend the traditional text courses in TX, because they are a bit static and heavily text-based, which is really hard to read through for 180 hours. Real estate license course content is often a bit dry – we’re not talking Danielle Steel novels here – so picking a school that’s going to keep your attention is important.
Pass Rate. About 56% of Colibri students go on to pass the state exam, which is just slightly higher than the 55% average.
Course Duration. You can log in to extend your course access by selecting a 7, 30, or 60-day option (prices go up the longer you want to extend). You can also choose the “retake” option which will give you a $25 discount to start the course over.
Support. Their customer support team is nothing to write home about. You often have to fill out a contact box on their website spelling out the issue to even get a response. While they do list a phone number, they are very slow to respond.
Refund Policy. Colibri offers a 100% refund of the purchase price if you don’t like the course within one week. If you haven’t started the course, you can ask for a 100% refund up to one month after the purchase.

We had a high bar in picking the best of the best real estate schools in Texas. These schools didn’t make the cut (frankly, they’re not as great as our top picks – but were also considered).

For students that need to be held accountable to go to classes in order to pay attention to the material – you know who you are – in-person courses are still available in many metro areas in Texas. Champions has the most locations. That said, their pass rates are disappointing compared to the top online schools, and I found their support abysmal. I called 4 times and followed-up with a couple emails, and no one ever called me back. They also have the worst refund policy in TX. So I don’t recommend them unless you’re set on taking your courses in person.

A bit about Pass Rates:
You’ll see me refer to Pass Rates in my article – these are real numbers provided by the Texas Real Estate Commission. Texas is unique in the fact that they are one of the few states to publicly post the pass rates of each real estate education provider for prospective students to review. These numbers are not inflated by the schools themselves, and reflect the number of students who passed their real estate exam between 2/1/2021 and 1/31/2023.

Methodology
We spent over 240 hours compiling data from schools, students, and our own internal sources to rank these schools. We ranked them based on:
- Course value
- Customer/student experience
- Return policies
- Course structure
- Overall performance of each school as a whole
- User reviews
Of course, you should always read more reviews, investigate on your own, and talk to schools before making your own decision, but we can vouch for the schools above.
